Over the course of three months, the original London to Sydney (and the re-introduced Sydney to London journey) crosses three continents and 18 countries through Europe, Turkey, Iran, India, Nepal, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and onto Sydney via the Australian Outback.
The Olympic Special follows the same route from Sydney to Bangkok before heading to Beijing and touring China before heading through Mongolia and Russia on the Trans-Siberian Railway, Moscow, St Petersburg and northern Europe.
We use a selection of multi-share hostels and budget hotels with a few unforgettable nights camping in the Outback.
